It's been a while
Feb. 4th, 2007 09:15 pmIt's been quite a while since I've actually posted anything.... Who knows, I might even manage to get back into the habit of doing this regularly.
I've probably spent 4 hours in the past 3 days on the phone with one of my customers, the computer teacher at the Governor Morehead School. We set up a new embosser for them on Wednesday, and now it's looking like they're going to be purchasing another embosser, a bunch of software, and a couple of other products as well. She's really excited about the possibilities that some of our products could give her students, and it would seem that I made a good impression on her (both at the setup on Wed, and talking to her on the phone.) Things really feel like they're starting to move.
I started working with Indigo Logix in April, but with a couple of exceptions, it's taken until now to really have sales start to come in. It was a lot easier when I was working with individual customers, rather than schools and other institutions -- individuals generally decide that they're going to get something and them buy it. Lots of times, I've heard from schools when I do a demo, "We love your products and definitely want to get something, but we're not going to have money until sometime in the middle of next year." Ugh. At long last, next year is here and those folks are starting to call back and get quotes and start the purchase process. I'm also looking at two different trainings in the next few weeks. I'll be working with folks at two different schools to teach them how to use the products that we sell (and a few that we don't). I've always enjoyed training -- and teaching in general, for that matter -- so I'm really looking forward to this.
